I find that having a smartphone in my back pocket does enable me to grab useful pictures when I least expect to ... like when out on a run or taking a train ride. But for me, that is often only a starting point.

Snapshots from my phone camera often tend to be springboards into entire weekend projects, where I start exploring the same subject more earnestly.

And I find that I am most mindful about my photography when I make an effort to create a narrative and write a story about my photographs. It really forces me to think about those photographs, before, and after I take them.
